How to search for package Ubuntu, How to search for a package in Debian.

To install the package just do apt install package-name.

Let’s see how to check if a package is available in the official Ubuntu or Debian repositories. So you can do something like apt search..

So maybe you want to install Audacity . You want to see if it’s available and you can see that audacity is available and other audacity things. You can just do the same, maybe you want to install containerd . Maybe you want to see if container d is available in the Ubuntu repository. You can just search for it, apt search containerd.

And you can see that it’s available and other things as well. Let’s see if that will work on Debian as well.

So let’s search for Audacity.

And you can see you have audacity and if you search for something that is not there you’ll see the results are different. Let me do CTRL L

And let’s search for Camtasia.

You’ll see that it doesn’t give any result for that .
